<image:title>PLATFORM - Public Health</image:title>
<image:caption>Raja has dedicated his life to helping others live at their fullest potential. As a surgeon treating people with cancers caused by asbestos, he knows that the environment around us plays a huge role in our health. Tragically, this has been especially true during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why Raja believes that the best way to protect public health across New York City is to start at the neighborhood level and ensure no one is left behind. Raja will: Expand neighborhood health action centers to provide local public health. Ensure community voices are included in the public health process. Provide additional resources to public hospitals for the care of survivors of COVID-19. Large scale COVID-19 plan to anticipate variants and booster shots for waning immunity. Health and economy depend on it. Incentivize integration of physical and mental health services for the homeless. Invest in greening technologies and infrastructure needed to protect against climate change.</image:caption>

<image:title>PLATFORM - ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY</image:title>
<image:caption>As the son of a secretary and maintenance worker, Raja knows that New Yorkers are willing to do what it takes to support themselves and their families. He also believes that the diversity of New York is its strength and a strong foundation on which to build an economy that works for everyone. Raja knows economic growth comes from investing in the people and places that make New York a big city and a small town. Raja will: Recognize the fastest way back to a strong economy is by beating COVID-19. Expand open restaurants and open streets across all neighborhoods. Protect workers in the gig economy and ensure competition on a level playing field. Rezoning that promotes local business but not displacement of local residents. Create trust between communities and the police to keep neighborhoods safe because a safe city leads to an economically prosperous city. Encourage small business growth with tax breaks and better loan access.</image:caption>

<image:title>PLATFORM - Secure Housing</image:title>
<image:caption>As someone who grew up in a low-income neighborhood and now cares for people living in unsafe housing as a surgeon, Raja knows that housing is everything. A safe and affordable place to live is a foundation on which a life can be built. That’s why Raja is committed to supporting all New Yorkers, regardless of whether they have housing or the type of housing in which they live. Raja will: Expand the amount of permanent housing available to house homeless individuals. Protect renters facing eviction and offer assistance to landlords and owners. Invest in NYCHA and create opportunity zones within NYCHA for tenant-owned businesses. Reinforce the Mitchell-Lama Program to maintain the current housing stock. Reduce property taxes for homeowners.</image:caption>

<image:title>NYCHA - Home Ownership</image:title>
<image:caption>The city government has failed to create generational wealth for the tenants of NYCHA, in great part due rent payments, with no opportunity for home equity. We will create payment systems that allow NYCHA residents to own equity in their property. In 1862, Abraham Lincoln passed the Holmstead Act, allowing hundreds of thousands of Americans to own public lands. My administration will establish community land trusts, in which tenants have the opportunity to own their homes. A vertical Holmstead act in NYC. The trusts will be made up of residents currently living in NYCHA. Consultants will be called upon to help guide and educate tenants but only tenants will have the final say. This will be Community-led development on community-owned land with the ultimate goal of providing home ownership and generational wealth.</image:caption>

<image:title>NYCHA - Local business</image:title>
<image:caption>We will subsidize small businesses to set up shop within NYCHA. We will incentivize NYCHA residents to work in these businesses. The corner Bodega is a staple of New York local economies. It’s time to create flourishing economic ecosystems for the nearly half million NYCHA residents.</image:caption>

<image:title>NYCHA - Safe & healthy homes</image:title>
<image:caption>Safe housing is a cornerstone of thriving neighborhoods. Lethal asbestos lingers in NYCHA walls, lead paint has not been completely removed, and mold contaminants often go unaddressed. The figure reveals how the needs of NYCHA residents are disproportionately ignored by bad government policy. My administration will demand public transparency in the spending of federal, state, and city funding allocated for the restoration of NYCHA apartments. We will never cut corners on lead, asbestos, and mold inspections, as has been the case in the past. Safety in our cities' communities must be paramount</image:caption>

<image:title>NYCHA - Education</image:title>
<image:caption>I was educated every step of the way in this great city, from elementary to undergraduate, medical school, and surgical residency. Good education remains the essential foundation to thrive for children living in NYCHA housing. Studies have shown that tenant-based educational vouchers reduce high school dropout rates and increase the likelihood of graduation. We will incentivize school performance with wifi programs and educational vouchers.</image:caption>

<image:title>CRIME & SAFETY - MANNY GOMEZ, ESQ.</image:title>
<image:caption>Mr. Gomez is a native New Yorker. He served his country honorably in the United States Marines Infantry. He rose to the rank of sergeant with the NYPD combatting violent crime. He joined the FBI as a special agent in counter terrorism. He won the prestigious FBI Investigator of the Year award for identifying and neutralizing clandestine activities by hostile intelligence services against the U.S. Then he went to law school at night while starting MG Security Services, one of the most successful security companies in NYC with over 1,000 employees. He is a well-known crime and terrorism expert in NYC and nationally and frequently appears on both Conservative and Liberal media outlets. As acting first deputy mayor, some of Manny Gomez’s immediate actions include: · Repeal catch and release – a second chance should be earned rather than an entitlement. · Revoke qualified immunity for politicians. Politicians who set the policies should not be above the law and must be liable for their decisions as well.</image:caption>
